Canon Full-Frame Mirrorless Unveil is Likely September 5th

Image
If Canon does let a full-frame mirrorless camera out of the bag next week, it may not be one geared at professional photographers — that one could be the second one announced months later. This past weekend, CanonWatch published a set of basic rumored specifications of what we may see in the first camera announced. It’s said to be a 28-megapixel full-frame mirrorless camera with Dual Pixel Autofocus (DPAF), in-body image stabilization (IBIS), 10fps continuous shooting, 4K video at 30fps, and 1080p video at 60fps. Price tag: $1,900. This announcement would come just two weeks after Nikon announced its entire new Z Series with two cameras : the more affordable $1,996 Z6 and the higher-end $3,400 Z7. If the above specs are true, then the camera appears to be one that’s designed to compete against the Nikon Z7 and $1,998 Sony a7 III. It will be interesting to see how photographers react if Canon’s response turns out to be the “weaker” of its two planned full-frame cameras. Sta

Nikon's Z Series Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera System

Image
After months and months of  hints , rumors,  leaks , speculations, and  teasers , Nikon just finally officially unveiled the highly-anticipated Z Series, its first full-frame mirrorless camera system. Nikon is launching the Z Series with two cameras, three lenses, and one lens adapter. The New Z Lens Mount “We have been refining our optical technologies for over 100 years,” Nikon stated at its global launch event. The Z Series features a brand new lens mount that’s designed to “redefine possibilities” and elevate optical performance for Nikon over the coming decades. “This is the new light that Nikon will use to pioneer the future,” Nikon says. “It is indeed mirrorless reinvented.” The Z mount uses a large 55mm inner diameter and a 16mm flange focal distance that allow for apertures as fast as f/0.95 and a slim body design. It also opens the door to other lens properties that weren’t previously possible with Nikon’s F mount. F-mount lenses will be fully compatible with Z mount cameras

Nikon Unveils the Z Series Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera System

Last week, I went out on a limb and pre-ordered the 24-megapixel Nikon Z6, which should ship on November 30. It is a bit of a flyer, but assuming my instincts are correct, the camera will replace my second body, my D750. Currently, I have two cameras, one a D810 and the other a D750. They are my first and second bodies respectively. I use the D810 almost exclusively for jobs, and the D750 serves as a second backup body in case of failure, and a personal project camera, too. I intend to upgrade both cameras over the next year and a half, and I definitely wanted to move towards mirrorless. The camera has much to love, including most of the features that Sony and Fuji have pioneered in the space. Most notably, Nikon has an incredible new mount that lets in more light than any other Full Frame, APS-C or 4/3 mirrorless body on the market. I personally think the next D6 or perhaps even a medium format Nikon may use this mount. Plus I have tested Fuji, Sony and Olympus products, and every tim

Canon mirrorless dreams are likely coming true soon

Over the last week or two, I have been saying that all signs point to Canon not announcing a mirrorless camera body ahead of Photokina, which begins late next month.  We mentioned this again yesterday. All of our known sources, still maintain that they know of no mirrorless camera coming, even as recently as a few hours ago. Unknown sources have told us that a full frame mirrorless camera was coming, but history has taught us that the known is usually better than the unknown. I may have been wrong this time. We’ve known about Canon having an announcement on September 5, 2018 (EST) for quite a while, and that has been confirmed by other sites as well. Recently, Canon Watch posted a specification list for an upcoming full frame mirrorless camera from Canon. We give no rating to these specifications, it’s just what’s out there. Rumored specifications 28MP full frame sensor Dual Pixel Auto Focus IBIS (In Body Image Stabilisation) 10fps shooting 4k@30fps 1080p@60fps Priced $1,900 I

Nikon Z6 and Z7 full-frame mirrorless cameras and three lenses coming on August 23rd

The names of the two new Nikon full-frame cameras will be: Nikon Z6 : high speed, low light model (24MP) Nikon Z7 : high-resolution model (45MP) The new Nikon mirrorless lenses could be called Z-Nikkor . Ok, you better sit down for that one: there will be a Nikon Z-Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 lens ! This will be the fourth Z-mount lens and it will be announced after August 23rd (I have no exact date yet). In the next official teaser or in the final press release, Nikon will greatly emphasize the inner diameter of the new mount . Nikon will concentrate on high-end prime lenses for their new mirrorless system. I believe on August 23rd we will get both the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 mirrorless cameras together with the 24-70mm f/4, 50mm f/1.8 and one more wide angle lens (24mm f/1.8 or 28mm f/1.8 or 35mm f/1.8). Leaked picture of the upcoming Nikon mirrorless camera

Nikon’s upcoming full frame mirrorless camera has been spotted in the flesh yet again. A new set of leaked photos are offering yet another glimpse at the new, highly-anticipated camera’s look. Nikon Rumors first published the set of photos, which were uploaded and subsequently deleted by a Twitter fan account for the Chinese actress Dilireba. It appears that the actress was recruited to advertise the camera, presumably in the Chinese market, and behind-the-scenes photos of one of the shoots are what have emerged. Here are two crops of the images that provide a closer look at the camera’s details: A different real world photo from the other direction leaked the first day Nikon teased the camera. Nikon is also building up excitement for the camera by revealing small portions of it through video teasers, the latest of which features the camera’s large lens mount.

Nikon full-frame mirror-less Rumoured Specifications and teaser

On August 23, 2018, Nikon will unveil their new full frame mirrorless system and lens mount. The Rumored Specifications via Nikon Rumors: Two Nikon full-frame mirrorless cameras expected: one with 24-25MP and one with 45MP (48MP is also a possibility, previously reported in October last year). BSI sensors (supposed to be new gen/tech with advanced AF). 5-axis in-body stabilization 9fps Memory cards: XQD and CF Express (ProGrade is coming with a CF Express card). EVF resolution: 3.6MP (I am not sure if this is MP or million dots). Very good video AF features. Video AF could be different for the two mirrorless models (the cheaper version may have less AF goodies). AF tracking ability of the 45MP version on par or better compared to the current Sony A7 models. Over 400 AF points, not sure about the exact number, it should be somewhere between 430-450. The AF is supposed to be very fast. The rear LCD screen is tiltable just like the Nikon D850. I see 8K listed in the technical specificatio
