Canon mirrorless dreams are likely coming true soon

We were wrong, all of your Canon mirrorless dreams are likely coming true soon
Over the last week or two, I have been saying that all signs point to Canon not announcing a mirrorless camera body ahead of Photokina, which begins late next month.  We mentioned this again yesterday.
All of our known sources, still maintain that they know of no mirrorless camera coming, even as recently as a few hours ago. Unknown sources have told us that a full frame mirrorless camera was coming, but history has taught us that the known is usually better than the unknown. I may have been wrong this time.

We’ve known about Canon having an announcement on September 5, 2018 (EST) for quite a while, and that has been confirmed by other sites as well.
Recently, Canon Watch posted a specification list for an upcoming full frame mirrorless camera from Canon.
We give no rating to these specifications, it’s just what’s out there.
Rumored specifications
  • 28MP full frame sensor
  • Dual Pixel Auto Focus
  • IBIS (In Body Image Stabilisation)
  • 10fps shooting
  • 4k@30fps
  • 1080p@60fps
  • Priced $1,900
If this specification list is to be believed, we’re not looking at a “high end” mirrorless camera and it’s definitely not targeted at professionals. We have reported previously that two full frame mirrorless cameras were in development and that they would be announced 6 or so months apart.
While we still can’t say for sure that a full frame mirrorless camera is going to be announced on September 5, 2018, by Canon, we’re now leaning towards thinking one is coming that day.

I apologize for being wrong on this one, Canon has truly done a masterful job of keeping this quiet. All of the usually leaks that come before a camera announcement have not come. I actually take this sort of thing personally.
